Beth Ulrich, EdD, RN, FACHE, FAAN. Beth Ulrich is Senior Vice President of Consulting Services for the Gannett Healthcare Group. Dr. Ulrich has extensive senior executive experience having served in COO and Senior Vice President positions in both hospitals and large health care systems, has held faculty positions in the School of Nursing and School of Medicine at the University of Texas at Houston and the School of Nursing at UTMB. She is currently the Editor of Nephrology Nursing Journal and has served as the Associate Editor of Nursing Economics. Dr. Ulrich received her bachelor’s degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, her master’s degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center, and her doctorate from the University of Houston in a collaborative program with Baylor College of Medicine. She is a past president of the American Nephrology Nurses’ Association, and is a Fellow in both the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Academy of Nursing. Dr. Ulrich has numerous publications and presentations to her credit on topics in management and nursing including her own book Leadership and Management According to Florence Nightingale. A co-investigator on national workforce studies, Dr. Ulrich’s work is frequently cited in peer-reviewed nursing journals and trade publications. She is also known for her work on successfully recruiting, retaining, and working with multigenerational workforces, and studying the experiences of new graduate nurses as they enter the workforce. |

Judith G. Berg, RN, MS, FACHE. Judith Berg, RN, MS, FACHE is Vice President of Consulting Services for the Gannett Healthcare Group. Ms. Berg has many years of executive experience, having served for nearly 20 years as the chief nurse executive for a multi-hospital, community-based teaching health system, and for a large community hospital district. In these roles, Ms. Berg was responsible for providing leadership in all aspects of nursing and patient care delivery while simultaneously managing budgets in the tens of millions. She has also had extensive experience in management and leadership training, both in course development and as program faculty. Her consulting practice has included work with all levels of employees from staff to senior executives, and with employer-based groups to professional associations. Ms. Berg received her BSN and Master of Science in Public Health, with an emphasis in Administration, from the University of Minnesota. She is a graduate of the Wharton Fellows Program in Management for Nurse Executives, holds a certificate from the Western Network Institute for Nurse Executives, and is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Ms. Berg has presented nationally on nursing leadership and workforce topics, and she is widely known for her work with nurse retention. Ms. Berg has served on numerous boards, including the Association of California Nurse Leaders, California Hospital Association, and the American Organization of Nurse Executives. She currently serves on the board of the California Institute for Nursing and Health Care. |

Terri Gaffney, RN, MPA, is Vice President of Consulting Services for the Gannett Healthcare Group. Prior to joining Nursing Spectrum (now the Gannett Healthcare Group), Ms. Gaffney served as the Executive Director of the American Academy of Nursing in Washington, DC. In this capacity, she managed the operations of the organization and developed its first strategic plan which ensured fiscal stability. Ms. Gaffney has also served as Director of State Government Relations for the American Nurses Association, Associate Legislative Director for Paralyzed Veterans of America, and Past President of the Virginia Board of Nursing. She was recently appointed Commissioner on Workforce Issues for the Virginia Nurses Association. She is an active member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives as well as the Maryland and Virginia Chapters. Terri received her BSN from the Medical College of Virginia and her Masters in Public Administration from Virginia Tech. |
